Tyrel’s writing reveals the connection between truth and story. He offers readers a perspective of the world that is rooted in the knowable and absolute truth and overflowing with imagination.
He’s originally from southwest Wyoming, but after starting a family and working in the oil and gas industry he answered the Lord’s call to the ministry earning his B.A. in Religious Studies from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and his MDiv from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He has served four parishes as a full-time pastor: a dual-parish in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, one in a suburb of Salt Lake City, UT, and now he lives and works in the storybook town of Ferndale, CA among the Redwoods at the north end of the Lost Coast where he serves St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, a confessional congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
